Why is it called "The Bread Sled?"

During the Great Depression, men would have to stand in lines for hours just to get a loaf of bread for their families.  We don't want people to have to come to us to get what they need.  The Bread Sled will go to them.

Also, in John 6:35 Jesus tells us that He is the Bread of Life and whoever comes to Him will never be hungry or thirsty again.  We can give out supplies that will help a person's body, but only Jesus can heal a soul.

So no, we don't just give out bread.

First of all, what is the Bread Sled?

We're so glad you asked!  The Bread Sled is a restored antique ice cream truck that Restoration Church owns and uses to distribute food, clothes and other supplies to people in our community.

Where can I see the Bread Sled?

The Bread Sled made its maiden voyage on July 2, 2015.  You'll occasionally see the truck driving through the community and stopping to hand out free freeze pops, school supplies and other goods. We also have plans to be at Apple Harvest Day in Dover in the fall, and maybe even a surprise appearance at an event later in the year.  Make sure to check back on this page occasionally to see what the Bread Sled will be up to next!

How can I get involved?

We are always looking for new and exciting ways to help out our community.  If you would like to be a part of the Bread Sled's operating team email us at hello@restorationchurch.cc.
