The Things That Don't Fly Away

Proverbs 23:4-5

Don’t wear yourself out trying to get rich. Be wise enough to know when to quit. In the blink of an eye wealth disappears, for it will sprout wings and fly away like an eagle.

In life we can get so caught up in the newest technology, the next best thing, having the biggest house and driving fancy cars. We work long hours, get multiple jobs, and hoard money so we can live the high class life. Our appearance becomes the most important thing.  All though those things are not bad or evil; we need transportation, a home to live in and technology can be helpful, but it distracts us from the things that matter in this world. We forget what matters; we forget to love others, tell people about Jesus, and invest in advancing the plans that God has for us. Like Proverbs 23:4-5 states “Don’t wear yourself out trying to get rich. Be wise enough to know when to quit, in the blink of an eye wealth disappears, for it will sprout wings and fly away like an eagle.”  Focus on what God has for you and remember the things that do not fly away like an eagle.
